- AL.EX - LABORATORIO DI ECONOMIA SPERIMENTALE E SIMULATIVA
The Laboratory of Experimental Economics and Simulation AL.EX. is among the first to have been opened in Italy, probably the second one. The research of people of the Department POLIS working with it, as well as that of guest researchers, deals mainly (but not exclusively) with public choice matters and with the simulation of electoral systems. Most of it is described in the AL.EX. series of POLIS Working Papers.

- BIOS - CENTRO DI RICERCA SULLA BIOPOLITICA
The aim of the Centre is to develop and coordinate research and training activities by scholars from various disciplines in the field of biopolitics, with a particular emphasis on the redefining of traditional political and ethical categories, especially in relation to the development of new scientific technologies. Among its research topics, the centre promotes the investigation of the relationships between biopolitics and medical biological sciences, between biopolitics and economy, and between biopolitics and bioethics.

- CAST - CENTRO PER L'ANALISI STORICA DEL TERRITORIO
The CAST works in the context of the research on the knowledge of the territory and the support of sustainable development, according to the 3rd strategical priority of the POR 2007=2013: "upgrading the territory via the development of cultural systems and the recovery of declining urban areas".

- CERVAP - CENTRO DI RICERCA PER LA VALUTAZIONE NELLE AMMINISTRAZIONI PUBBLICHE
CERVAP's objective is to unite the competence of Italian and international experts on the analysis of the impact of the activities of public administrations. The impact analysis is a set of evaluations giving empirical proof of the changes brought by the administrations' interventions on economic, social or management situations.

- CIFCEI - CENTRO ITALO-FRANCESE PER LA CULTURA ECONOMICA E L'INNNOVAZIONE
CIFCEI groups researchers from the University of Eastern Piedmont and French universities, with the aim of reinforcing the link between France and Italy (dialog on economics and institutions, local development, comunications and trade between Alessandria, France and Europe).

- CIVIS - CENTRO INTERDIPARTIMENTALE VOLONTARIATO E IMPRESA SOCIALE
In Italy and other countries, there is a growing body of associations which are acting in the public space between the State and the market. They are called volontary, private social, non-profit or third-sector and are becoming more important in economic, social and political terms.
The Centro Interdipartimentale Volontariato e Impresa Sociale (CIVIS) groups researchers from various disciplines and is joined by professionals and non-profit associations in order to develop its research, teaching and evaluation activities of the third-sector, with a particular emphasis of the Piedmont context.

- CISP - CENTRO INTERATENEO DI STUDI PER LA PACE
The Centro Interateneo di Studi per la Pace (CISP) è was created in 2001 by the University of Turin, the University of Eastern Piedmont, the politecnico di torino. It aims to promote, coordinate and realise studies and resarch on the themes of peace and war from the point of view of the various political, religious and cultural sensibilities. It also promotes, coordinates and realises studies on the processes of control and reduction of weapons and relative technology.
